Thank you, my friend! I'm always pleased when someone likes my fishies. The first time I saw a painting by Paul Klee,(a still life with a fish) I knew I could have fun painting fish. I love his use of colour and graphic style.

Thank you, Rosie! They were fun to paint. I worked on four small fish paintings at a time. I found that worked really well. While I was waiting for one to dry, I could work on one of the others. It can be rather boring to wait for the paint to dry. :D

hehe yeah thats true! :D what paints do you use? i like to play around with acrylics, but lack the skills to try more adventurous things such as oils and watercolours etc ;)
your pictures certainly looked fun to paint, they are so full of life and colours :D realy fantastic! :XD:

Hi Rosie, thanks for your comments. I use all media, but with this one "pretty fishes" I used transparent watercolour. I love buying new paints or pencils, because it usually inspires me to experiment with them, and play with them, which is one of the best ways to discover what they can do. It does take time to get to know watercolour for instance. You have to be comfortable with being a beginner, and build on that. It's very important to approach anything with an attitude of "I don't really care how this turns out, but I'm just going to give it a go, and have some fun...!" Hope that is helpful.
Best regards!

lol thats my attitude for almost everything in life :D thankyou, i often get inspired to try new things after seeing such beautiful works as yours :) at the moment im going through a phase of painting on stones....i figured if any came out nice enough i could give them to people as paperweights, and if not they can go back in the garden ;) perhaps i will get my watercolours out again and see what i can do..but not on stones though! :D

Thank you for the kind compliment. I get inspired by other artists work as well.
Painting on stones sounds like fun. I saw examples of that in a book once. Something I would have tried when I was younger. Now that I'm into watercolour, I find I don't have enough time to do other things. It's forever challenging, even after all these years.
Thanks for sharing! :)
