This is the same canvas as the previous one I posted. Acrylics on canvas 91 cm square. For some reason I didn't like the previous , more colourful one, so I decided to rework it.
It's not the first time I have reworked a painting, and afterwards I regretted it. Of course it is only a painting, so it's no big deal, really. Also, I was at least smart enough to get a good photo of the other one before reworking it. So, I can at least still have it as a print for my products on Redbubble and here. The previous one was more about colour. This one has more texture and is more about tone. These cats look more like alley cats, who have had to fend for themselves. I kind of like them. Hope you do , too.

Upon first glance that is so very apparent. While the backgrounds show a sort of darkness suggesting the 'alley', each face pops out from that dark - and each look like they have such stories to tell. It's in their eyes. Madness, sadness, wisdom, but mostly tired. Could the artist have some kind of connection to the alley cat soul to sense their tales?
While this painting is a bit heartbreaking, it's also valuable as a reminder of the hard lives of the feral feline. Quite beautiful in that regard.
