Succulent 2 by karincharlotte Succulent 2 by karincharlotte
This is a bigger version of a succulent. I already did a similar one, much smaller. Not sure if I should stop or still work on this. I know it does need some tweaking, and maybe a bit of lifting out highlights, but man, I'm a bit sick of working on this. Somehow it always looks better in a photo.
Watercolour
1/2 sheet Arches watercolour paper.

Oh, thank you. It is now finished, and framed. It's been in a few exhibitions, but more or less ignored. I do love to paint succulents. They are such fun. :)

Well, I have also received a lot of good feedback as well, and I like it myself, so it doesn't matter too much. There is so much good art out there, so I realize that it's a bit of a lottery. You win some and you sell some. I had a big fish painting that I put into so many exhibitions, and nobody took notice, and then 4 years after I painted it, it sold for a good price.

Is that what you call these. I love succulents. There are so many great varieties over here. They are perfect for the dry climate, too, and make excellent subjects for painting. Hope you are well!

Oops... this message got lost! I'm not sure if that's what they call them in your part of the world... and they might not be the same thing we have in my part of the world. But who cares!

Here's wishing you a New Year filled with life, love, light, health and happiness.
Hugs,
Anj

Thank you, Anj ! My sister calls these hens and chicks - must be a Canadian or American name. Succulent is more of a general name. There are different varieties of succulents.

Thank you for your feedback, Theresa! Yes, I might just leave it as it is, sign it and whack it in a frame, ready for the next exhibition.
